Zyra Alexis Tyler

Zyra Alexis Tyler, the daughter of Rodney Hill and Danielle Tyler, was born on November 5, 2021, at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, N.C. She drifted away peacefully on October 11, 2022, after fighting a good fight at Duke Hospital in Durham, N.C. Despite everything Zyra was up against she shined a special light, her smile was big and her laughter filled a room. She enjoyed hugs and kisses as well as listening to music, playing with her siblings and stuffed animals. She was loved by many and became a strong impact in all our lives.

To remember Zyra, we are asking that you help us celebrate her life at Munden Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 19, at 2 p.m. Pastor Robert Todd White, of First Apostolic Church, will be officiating the service. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 20th, at 11 a.m. at Burn Cemetery in Hubert.

She leaves to cherish her memory her father, Rodney Hill; mother, Danielle Tyler; brothers, Cassius Patrick, Rodney Hill Jr.; sisters, Champagne Slade, Karma Hill, Uriyah Tyler, Ariana Crawford, and Journee Hill; her great- grandmothers, Phyllis Lewis and Beatrice Hill; her grandmothers, Gina Tyler, Sandra Hill (Oliver), and Dee-Dee Reels; aunts, Ebonee Lewis and Patrice Clyde (Shaun); uncles, Michael Jones (Meika), Dante Gardner (Mandessa), Zabtrubaisha (Major) Gibson, and Brenden Tyler. As well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family all who loved and cherished her.

She is preceded in death by her great-grandfathers, Hubert Lewis and Isaiah Hill II; grandfather, Michael Solomon; great-aunt, Andrea Lewis; aunt, Talisa Hill; and uncles, Quentin Solomon and Ronnie Lewis.

The family would like to thank the staff at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC and Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. A special thanks to Neurologist Dr. Matthew Vestal. The incredible care and concern Zyra received from her medical team touched our lives, as well as our hearts. Thank you for treating our Zy-bug as if she were your own child.
