MSgt William Walter Lynchesky (USAF Retired), 85, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 27, 2025.
William was born on January 24, 1940, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to the late Walter and Anna Lynchesky. He served his country honorably for over 22 years in the United States Air Force, where he earned the respect and admiration of his peers as a distinguished Master Sergeant. William went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business management and dedicated an additional 28 years to working with Virginia Power. Throughout his life William exemplified a commitment to hard work and dedication, taking great pride in providing for his family.
Known to be quite the social man, William had a remarkable ability to connect with others. He never met a stranger and always had something interesting to talk about. In his free time, William enjoyed keeping busy in his garden where he always enjoyed the sense of accomplishment.
More than anything William devoted himself to his family who were his anchor. He loved spending time with them and had a unique way of making each family event special.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his sons, William Joseph Lynchesky of Havelock, NC and Anthony Walter Lynchesky of Newport, NC; 2 grandchildren; and 2 great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene Elizabeth Lynchesky and his brother, Edward Lynchesky.
