William Carroll
Lupton
November 18, 1943 – April 10, 2026
William Carroll Lupton, 82, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A funeral service to honor William’s life will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, April 14th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Bill Hooper. Interment will follow at Live Oak Grove Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website.
William was born on November 18, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late McKeever and Ruby Lupton.
He dedicated 30 years of service to the North Carolina Ferry Division, where he worked in the Maintenance Department. It was a career he truly enjoyed and took great pride in.
William was a man of deep faith who loved the Lord and faithfully attended Graham Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was always willing and ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. He especially enjoyed time spent with the Precious Stone Group, often welcoming them into his home for his famous oyster roasts, times filled with laughter, good food, and lasting friendships. William had a gift for playing the harmonica, something many will fondly remember, as he brought smiles and joy to those gathered around him.
William had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether deer hunting, clamming, or simply spending time on the water. He was a gifted carpenter, and he could fix just about anything. William enjoyed working in his yard, which was something he took great pride in, always keeping his yard neat and beautiful through his hard work.
William never met a stranger. With his warm personality, quick humor, and playful spirit, he had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He loved to joke and “pick,” bringing smiles to those around him. Beneath it all was a heart of gold, he was a kind, generous, and genuine man, a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
More than anything, William’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with those he loved. Some of his happiest times were spent outdoors with his son, Billy, riding four-wheelers and passing down his knowledge of carpentry. His granddaughter, Kyley Rose, was truly the light of his life, the apple of his eye, and he treasured every precious moment they shared together.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Patricia “Patty” Lupton; his son, William “Billy” Carroll Lupton Jr. of Beaufort; his sister, Patricia Moore of Morehead City; his beloved granddaughter, Kyley Rose Lupton of Beaufort; and several loving nieces and nephews, including William’s nephew, Johnny Lupton, who the family would like to especially thank for all that he did for them.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Marie Pittman, and his brother, James Everette Lupton Sr.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Crystal Coast Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Crystal Coast Hospice House, P.O. Box 640, Newport, NC 28570.
