William "Bill" Killingsworth

William “Bill” Killingsworth, 82, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Croatan Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

Bill was born on March 22, 1942, in Tennessee. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Bill dedicated 11 honorable years to serving his country. Following his military service, Bill continued to serve his community as a Law Enforcement Officer, ensuring the safety and well-being of those around him. In the later years, Bill found a new career path in car sales, which was a perfect fit for his vibrant personality.

Bill was, without a doubt, the life of the party. Known for his quick wit and a repertoire of jokes that could light up any room, he had a rare gift for creating fun and fostering laughter. His passion for bringing people together turned ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. Bill had an extraordinary talent for making everyone feel welcome, which endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughters, Peggy Yvonne Creech, Elizabeth Frances Jones, and Billie Joyce Turner; son, Shawn Killingsworth; and sisters, Linda Buttery and Donna Hood.
