William "Bill" Hayden
Rouse
June 1, 1951 – April 26, 2026
William "Bill" Hayden Rouse, 74, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Bill was born on June 1, 1951, on a bright and sunny day in Middlebury, Vermont, to Sanford and Theda Rouse. He was a deeply family-oriented man who always made time for those he loved and took great pride in being a devoted provider.
A man of strong faith, Bill loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of St. James United Methodist Church. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for lifting the spirits of those around him. He never liked to see anyone sad and was known for bringing light and laughter wherever he went. Whether among family or strangers, he was always willing to lend a helping hand and give of himself freely. He carried a quiet strength, never one to complain, and chose instead to see the good in every situation. His kindness, gentle nature, and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Bill had a deep fascination with history, he enjoyed watching musicals, and he was an especially devoted fan of Monty Python. He also loved finding a good deal and could often be found browsing pawn shops, always on the lookout for a hidden treasure.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Judy Ann Rouse; daughter, Samantha Roma (Chris) of Newport, NC and Marisa Kay Stewart (Brian) of Plainville, IN; father, Sanford Rouse of Brandon, VT sisters, Cindy O'Brien of California and Cimmy Clark of Vermont; grandchildren, Savannah (Chris), Alexander (Jess), Eliza (Peter), Holden, Bailey, Mallory, Dean, and London; and great-grandchildren, Lana, Silas, Abel, Casper, Drake, and Adaline.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Theda Rouse; sister, Charlene Allis; and brother, Wendall Rouse.
