William "B-Nut" Bennett Baxter

William "B-Nut" Bennett Baxter, 66, of Havelock, NC, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Baxter; father, Donald Baxter; daughter, Ashley LeRoy and son-in-law, Joseph LeRoy; son, William Baxter II; granddaughter, Hayley Rowe; and grandson, Hunter LeRoy. 

B-Nut served 24 years as a legendary Flight Engineer for the KC-130 community. He traveled the world with over 10,000 flight hours. His favorite paradise was Wake Island. B-Nut was a world-class fisherman, who played golf and softball. He was a jack of all trades and a master of many. He had a wealth of knowledge and was famous for his sense of humor and quotes.

B-Nut was a loving father, husband, and confidant. Every one of his fellow Marines has a true story to tell about their endeavors. One fellow Marine witnessed B-Nut using a pencil eraser on an aircraft so it would land safely. 

B-Nut will be greatly missed by many for his soft, loving, caring, thoughtful, beautiful soul. His love will show through his family. And a bright light will always shine from this legend.
