Obituary

William Jackson “Jack” Adams Jr., 71, of Morehead City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at his home.

A funeral service to honor Jack’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 4 at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Andy Wann. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website.

Jack was born on December 15, 1954, in Statesville, North Carolina, to the late William and Remelle Adams. A devoted brother, a hardworking man, and someone who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Jack had a generous heart and made it a point to help anyone and everyone he could.

He was a longtime and faithful member of St. Peter’s Methodist Church, where he was a familiar and welcoming presence. For many years, Jack was the door greeter, arriving faithfully to welcome one and all. He was known for sharing his love of food with others, including preparing cookbooks for the ladies of the church.

In his later years, his faith became especially meaningful to him. Jack loved listening to Scripture and took great comfort in God’s Word. He quietly served others and gave of himself without expecting anything in return. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his sisters, Winnie Clarke (Phillip) of Morehead City, N.C., Constance Smith (Phil) of Vancouver, WA, Alyson Francisco (George) of Winston-Salem, N.C.; his black poodle Lilly and orange cat Gus.

Family and friends are welcome to submit online condolences at www.mundenfuneralhome.net.
