Alabama

Wayne A. Robinson, 76, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in North Carolina, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

The family will have a private burial on Tuesday, July 8th at Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, AL, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. at On Tap Sports Café Liberty Park in Vestavia Hills, AL.

Born on November 1, 1948, in Birmingham, Alabama, Wayne was the beloved son of the late Dudley and Helen Robinson. He attended West End High School and of course, being from Alabama, he was a huge Bama fan, always rooting on his home team.

Wayne was a lifelong salesman, who was once the proud owner and operator of Playback Audio in Alabama. He loved working on cars and always helped his neighbors and loved ones by lending a helping hand when needed.

As a loyal Jack Daniel’s fan, Wayne was always happy to share the fact that he owned a little plot of the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, TN. Known for his moves on the dance floor, he loved showing off his dancing ability with the Band Razzmatazz. Wayne will be fondly remembered for his gift of telling stories, always entertaining his listeners with fun memories and the good old days.

Above all, Wayne cherished his family and loved spending time with them. He will be remembered as a loving husband of 18 years, a devoted father to his daughters, and a proud grandfather to his beloved grandchildren.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving daughters, Kacy Robinson Newman (Brett) of Cape Carteret, NC and Elizabeth Jane Pegoda (Jacob) of Petersburg, AK; sister, Sydney Robinson McClain of Columbia, TN; sister-in-law, Louise Robinson of Birmingham, AL; and grandchildren, Laughlin, Jake, Gunnar and Magnus Pegoda and Grey Robinson Newman.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane K. Robinson; aunt, Joan Hill; sister, Annette R. Weber (Billy); brother, Duke Robinson; and brother-in-law, David McClain.
