Wanda Lee Teal, 65, of Harkers Island, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at The Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice.
A memorial service to honor Wanda’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 19th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. David Adams.
Wanda was born on June 9, 1959, in Richmond, Virginia, to Willis and Silvia Beverly. Wanda loved weekends at Cape Lookout, taking advantage of every opportunity to head to the beautiful shore. Her love for the outdoors was evident through her passions for fishing, hunting, and four-wheeling.
In addition to her love for nature, Wanda was an extraordinary cook and baker. She specialized in canning vegetables and was known for her signature dishes, including a special macaroni salad and delicious spaghetti. Friends of Wanda often enjoyed her delicious cakes, a testament to her generous spirit.
Creativity flowed through Wanda's heart and hands; her favorite hobby was ceramics, where she expressed her artistic talents by crafting beautiful pieces. This creativity extended to her home, where she took pride in continuously making improvements and personal touches.
Above all, Wanda will be remembered as a loving mother and a wonderful friend to many. Her warmth and passion for life touched the hearts of those around her.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Janie Taylor (Mark) of Harkers Island, NC; father, Willis Beverly of Richmond, VA; sisters-in-law, Thelma Beverly and Thelma Rheinhart; loyal friend and former husband, Roger Taylor (Brenda) and their children, Brooke Wonderly (Phil), Jared Taylor (Caitlin), Blake Taylor (Piper); wonderful friends, Sharon Nelson, Karen Abrahamian, Francis Garris, and Barbara Jones (Rodger); and many loving cousins.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, James Willis Teal; mother, Silvia Beverly; brothers, Willis Beverly Jr. and Timothy Beverly; and dear friend who taught her the art of ceramics Glenda Burleson (Clyde).
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
