Wallace W. Garner, Jr., 76, of Beaufort, died Monday, July 19, 2010, at Carteret General Hospital.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Thursday at Oceanview Cemetery with Rev. Manly Rose officiating.
Mr. Garner owned and operated NC Shellfish and Garner Mobile Home Park I and II in Harker's Island. He also owned and operated Garner Landscaping and Construction in Beaufort. He was employed for many years at the Morehead City Port as a Longshoreman.
He is survived by his wife Ruth A. garner of the home; four daughters Marcia Owens and husband Harvey of Beaufort, Arlene Garner of Beaufort, Crystal Jackson and husband Jerry of Beaufort, and Tracey Faulkner and husband Pat of Otway; two sons, Wallace Dru Garner of Clayton, and Willis De Garner of Beaufort; three grandchildren, Dani Jackson, J.J. Jackson, and Tricia De Rose; and five great-grandchildren, Jerrid, Paiten, Olivia, Carley, and Cameron.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Patricia Ann Garner, and parents Wallace and Mertie Garner.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home.
