Virginia “Ginnie” Estelle Kellum, 64, of Newport, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at her home.
Virginia was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. She spent the majority of her adult life there as well until her retirement from the News and Observer newspaper.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Herman Council and Tessie Council; and her beloved dog Jazzy.
Virginia is survived by her husband of over 25 years, Terry “Bunky” Kellum, of the home; daughters, Vanessa Piper and husband Andrew of Brooklyn NY, Cathy Griffin and husband Brenton of Newport, Chrissy Smith and Husband Duane of Otway; Only surviving sibling, sister Dorothy Battz and husband Johnny of Raleigh; Grandchildren, Olivia Piper, Kyndall Griffin, Ravyn Kellum, and Cayden Kellum.
