Upendrabhai Manibhai Patel, 76, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at his nephew's home in Morehead City, North Carolina.

A memorial service to honor Upendrabhai's life will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, September 13th at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City. The family will receive prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home's website.

Upendrabhai was born on June 1, 1950, in Anjesar, India, to the late Manibhai and Kamraben Patel. He spent most of his working life in the banking industry. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who appreciated the simple routines of life. He enjoyed his Monday through Friday workweek, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and looked forward to quiet weekends spent reading the newspaper and books, watching television, and enjoying time at home. A private and reserved man, he was happiest in the company of those he loved and was, above all, a devoted family man.

Upendrabhai was blessed to share 45 years of marriage with his sweetheart, Kusumben, before her passing 17 years ago. During the summers, Upendrabhai enjoyed traveling to the United States, where he looked forward to visiting with family and friends and making time to be together.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his son, Komal Kumar Patel (Tabetha) of Camden, NJ; and nephew, Vic Patel of Morehead City, NC.

In addition to his parents, Upendrabhai was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kusumben, and brother, Upendrabhai M. Patel.
