Troy Everette Goodwin
March 13, 1929 — April 23, 2017
Troy Everette Goodwin, 88, of Cedar Island passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 surrounded by family.
The graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Oscar Goodwin Cemetery with Reverend Darcy Knight officiating.
Troy was a proud commercial fisherman. He also worked with a dredging company. For the past few years, when he could no longer work on the water, he hung nets to help support his family. He was a good father to his children and he was a good “Pop” to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Blondie Mae Styron Goodwin; three children, Walter Everette Goodwin, Judy Ann Goodwin Willis, and Martha Sue Goodwin Daniels, all of Cedar Island; four grandsons, Quinn Everette Goodwin, Davis Banks Willis, Chance Alexander Goodwin, and Mark Avery Daniels, Jr.; three granddaughters, Samantha Marie Goodwin Heyer, Carol Ann Goodwin Willis, and Mae Bella Daniels; and sister-in-law, Lois Goodwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Wallace and Iola Goodwin; brothers, Oscar and Charles Swindell Goodwin; sisters, Gertie Rose and Eva Hill; nephew, Charles Douglas; and a niece, Maggie Mae.
