Tommy Carter
November 7, 1931 — June 30, 2010
Tommy Joe Carter, 78, of Beaufort, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Carteret General Hospital.
Mr. Carter was a native of Raleigh and retired from BellSouth. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion Post #297 in Raleigh.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at Live Oak Grove Christian Church with Rev. Bill Pollock officiating. Interment will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife Gertrude Carter of the home; daughter Andrea Meadows and husband Dave of Clayton; son Bryant S. Carter and wife Bonnie of Raleigh; grandson Stephen Carter; brother Ernest Carter and wife Edna of Washington, NC; sisters Doris Milton and husband Yates of Four Oaks, and Dudley Coats and husband Donald of Durham, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
