Tina Earnest Pittman

Tina Earnest Pittman, 64, of Newport passed away Sunday evening, February 4, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

A funeral service to honor Tina’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 9th at Munden Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery in Morehead City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

Tina was born on June 24, 1959, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Charles Earnest and Mother Deloris Earnest. She moved with her family to Eastern NC during her teenage years. After high school, she worked at Blue Bell in payroll and later at Morehead Block & Tile in counter sales and as the dispatcher.

She enjoyed numerous weekend trips with her husband in their private plane and enjoyed boating to Shackelford Banks and Cape Lookout National Seashore.

Tina took a sincere interest in others and always asked about their families and personal goals. She had a keen sense of adventure and a very positive attitude toward life despite her difficult health obstacles.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Chester A. Pittman, Jr. of the home; mother, Deloris H. Earnest of Beverly Hills, FL; daughter, Candy M. Edwards of Wilmington, NC; sisters, Sharon Wilson and her husband Jim of Citrus Springs, FL, Amy Howard and her husband Wayne of Beverly Hills, FL, Vickie Shaffer and her husband Vance of Rocky Top, TN, Shawn Gollehon of Lebanon, NE; brother, Charlie Earnest of Holbrook, NE; stepsons, Chet Pittman and his wife Kimberly of Newport, NC and Andrew Pittman of Olney, IL; and step-grandchildren, Sydney and Stephen Pittman.

Tina was preceded in death by her father, Charles Earnest.
