Thomas “Scotty” Webb Jr., 61, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Carolina East Medical Center.
A memorial service to honor Scotty’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 8th at First Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Sarah Williams. The family invites friends to join them for a reception at the VFW Post 8986 in Newport following the memorial service.
Scotty was born on February 8, 1964, in Morehead City, NC, to Thomas Scott Webb Sr. and Grace Kelly Webb. Known for his strict ways and dedication to doing things by the book, Scotty often said, “There are rules for a reason.” He stood firmly by his principles and was rarely, if ever, wrong, at least according to him.
Scotty loved being on the water—whether boating or simply sitting at the beach. He loved his dogs, who were constant companions and a big part of his daily life. Scotty enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, and being involved in the community, proudly serving as the area league representative for the American Poolplayers Association. Scotty loved firing up the grill and cooking hearty meals for his loved ones.
Above all else, Scotty loved his family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and were the light of his life.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary Hamilton Webb; daughter, Stefany Boyd (Kyle) of Newport, NC; sons, Charles Scott Webb of Newport, NC and Thomas Michael Webb of New Bern, NC; mother, Grace Kelly Webb of Morehead City, NC; sister, Kelly Woolard (Phil) of Morehead City, NC; and grandchildren, Kailyn Boyd, Brantley Boyd, Stella Webb, and Kaizen Webb.
Scotty was preceded in death by his father, Thomas "Tommy" Scott Webb Sr. who passed away on January 10, 2026.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to First Methodist Church, 900 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC 28557.
