Theresa Anne Roy, 68, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Carteret Health Care, with her loved ones by her side.

Theresa was born on June 14, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Clayton and Virginia Powell.

She lived a life full of creativity, adventure, and service to others. She found joy in all types of crafts, especially painting, where her imagination and talent could truly shine. She also had a spirited side-she loved motorcycles and enjoyed spending time at the range with target practice. Above all, Theresa had a heart for guiding and encouraging young people, serving as a dedicated leader with the Boy Scouts, where she made a lasting impact on many lives.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tilar Roy of Beaufort, NC; sons, Ronald Brock of Newport, NC and Alexander Roy of Charleston, SC; mother, Virginia Powell of New Bern, NC; sister, Karen Ashe (Matthew) of Rover, TN; brothers, Michael Powell (Shirley) of New Bern, NC and Timothy Powell of Stanton, VA; granddaughter, Katia Brock of Syracuse, NY; and neighbor, Steve Roy of Newport, NC.

Theresa was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Powell.
