Thelma “Jean” Morse Ryggs, 92, of Newport, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at her residence.
Services will be private per the family’s request.
Thelma resided with her nephew Reggie McCabe. She owned Ryggs Steakhouse, Causeway Lunch and Maria’s Pizza.
Thelma is survived by her nephew, Reggie McCabe of the home; sisters, Margie Parrott and Ruth Edens both of Nacogdoches, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ryggs; parents, William and Lydia Morse; brothers, William Morse Jr., Clyde Morse, Crockett Morse, Glenn “Brig” Morse; and nephew, John Edens, Jr.
