Thelbert Donald “Don” Arthur, 86, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, and entered his heavenly home.
A funeral service to honor Don’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20th at the Crystal Coast Church of the Nazarene in Morehead City, officiated by Rev. Jay Bush. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19th at Munden Funeral Home.
Don was born on May 24, 1937, in Otway, North Carolina, to the late Robert and Aleeze Arthur. He proudly graduated Magna Cum Laude from ECU in 1962. After graduating, he began his career at TE Brown Construction as the Office Manager. After that company liquidated in 1984, he went to work at Peppertree Resorts as the business manager and retired in 2013.
Don was a man of God, a man of honor, and a man of grace. He had a profound passion for sharing his love of the Lord with others and boldly professed his faith. But more importantly, he walked out those truths daily. For 54 years, Don served as a dedicated Sunday School teacher, imparting his wisdom and encouraging spiritual growth in those around him. His profound love for God was evident in every aspect of his life and his words made an impact and difference in countless souls. We know he was greeted into Heaven with the words, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant”.
Don’s journey in life was marked by the strength of his faith and his devotion to his beloved wife, Linda. For over 60 years, their love story was one of commitment and companionship. Their bond served as an inspiration to all who were fortunate to witness their enduring love.
Don’s presence will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the community he touched throughout his lifetime.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Linda Arthur; daughters, Donna Wilson (Philip) and Denise Talarico (Gary); six grandchildren, Zac Wilson (Kelly), Stephanie Wilson, Cassidy Wilson, Michael Talarico, Sophia Talarico, and Gianna Talarico; brothers-in-law, John Staley (Coble), Horace Piner, and George Godley; and many nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by siblings, Ann Edmonds, Robert Arthur, Glen Arthur, Lydia Godley, Maxine Piner and Marylou Mason.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don’s memory to Crystal Coast Pregnancy Center or the Crystal Coast Church of the Nazarene.
