Steve Menninger, 56, of Washington, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at his home.

His family will celebrate his life privately.

Steve was born on May 22, 1969, in Naples, Florida, to the late Charles Menninger Jr., and Angela Menninger. He was a dedicated educator and mentor whose career spanned over 28 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University and later received his master’s degree in education from the University of Phoenix. He served as a summer camp program director for the East Carolina Council from 1991 to 1995, helping to shape memorable experiences for many young campers. A lover of sports, he especially enjoyed basketball and was also a dedicated soccer coach. Steve was a positive role model for his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America. He will be remembered for his dedication to his students and the lasting impact he had on the lives he touched.
