Sherra Diane Roberts Fulton

Sherra Diane Roberts Fulton, 76, of Williston, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Lower Cape Fear Life Center.

Sherra was born on October 21, 1947, in Pensacola, Florida, to the late George A. Roberts Sr. and Jane Clepper Dardenella Roberts. She had a long and successful 40-year career as a nurse, working up until she had a stroke in 2010. Her love for people and caring for others was evident in everything she did. In her free time, Sherra enjoyed playing cards, going shopping, gardening, quilting, and spending time with friends. 

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her stepdaughters, Chris Ellis and Billy Ellis, both of Elgin, TX; nephews, Brandon Roberts (Brittany) of Elgin, TX and Chris Matthews of Pensacola, FL; great-grandson, Jacob Ellis of Elgin, TX; special niece and precious friend, Lynn Rios and her family of Saginaw, MI; nieces, Jane Elena Roberts Paz, Melissa Diane Roberts; brothers and sisters-in-law, MaElena Roberts of Guadalajara, Mexico, Leslie Maria Roberts of Houston, TX, and Dean Fulton (Carolyn) of Chesaning, MI; special friends who she could not have gotten through the last several years without, Shirley and Ray Burgess of Williston, NC and Terri Bates of New Bern, NC and; and her Beaufort friends, Linda, Melinda, Cheryl, Judy, and Tia.

In addition to her parents, Sherra was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Lavern Glen Fulton and their Katie Girl, their puppy who was 11 years old; her sister, Virginia Dardenella Roberts Mathews and her husband Vernon; and brothers, George A. Roberts Jr. and William S. Roberts; sisters-in-law, Lelia Chappell, Dorothy Fulton of Saginaw, MI and Roy Fulton of St. Charles, MI.

Sherra will be laid to rest privately, beside her late husband, at the Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC.
