Carol Mason

Carol Mason, 86, of Beaufort, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025, at her son's home in Goldsboro, NC.

A funeral service to honor Carol’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 19th at Calvary Baptist Church in Beaufort, officiated by Rev. David Bruce. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born on April 9, 1939, in Chocowinity, NC, Carol was one of six children born to the late Albin Ansel Beacham and Myrtle Dixon Beacham.

A devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, Carol’s faith was central to her life. She was proud of her heritage and served as an officer in the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Carol loved being outdoors and enjoyed spending time in her garden and pruning the trees in her yard, which always brought great satisfaction and happiness. Known for her creativity and artistry, she spent her life creating beautiful paintings and drawings. Additionally, Carol played the guitar and enjoyed singing with the Carteret Grays, sharing her love for music.

Carol will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who had an unwavering dedication to her family and faith.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 49 years, Ishmael Worth Mason Jr. of Beaufort, NC; daughter, Sandy Henry (Jerome) of Orange, VA; sons, Doyle Lupton (Denise) of Goldsboro, NC and Dean Lupton (Debra) of Newport, NC; sister, Frances Beacham of Newport, NC; grandchildren, Dreama, Nicholas, and Michael; and great-grandchildren, Rosa Lee and Zane.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her siblings, Lottie, Lillian, Cecil, and Pauline.
