Roberta "Chubby" Piner, 75, of Apex, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at her home.
The family will receive friends 2:00 - 3:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a very caring and compassionate person who was also very independent.
She is survived by five children, Jackie Dawn Ackerman and husband Lloyd of Alabama, Pam Woolard of Newport, Teresa McCarty of Apex; Robert Coiley and wife Christine of Holly Springs, and Regina Coiley of Newport; brother, Lonnie Pittman and wife Denise of Goldsboro; also six grandchildren, Robert McCarty, Steven Loyd, Andrea Pingitore, Anson Jacobs, Hannah Coiley, and Emma Coiley; and two great-grandchildren, Abbigale McCarty, and Leann Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Piner; parents, Lonnie and Edna Pittman; brother, Bert Pittman; and two grandsons, Christopher McCarty and Albert Correll.
