Robert Arthur Newkirk, Jr.

Robert Newkirk, Jr., 59, of Newport, died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Carteret General Hospital.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Manley Rose officiating.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in the U.S Army for over 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Newkirk of the home; sons, Robert Newkirk, III and wife Theresa of Otway, Cyrus Newkirk and wife Tabitha of Newport and Walter Newkirk and wife Elizabeth of Swansboro; sister, Janet Swiger of Newport; also six grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Georgia Newkirk.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
