Robert E. Lee
February 13, 1935 — February 22, 2016
Robert E. Lee, 81, of Newport passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Carteret Health Care.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 Saturday February 27, 2016 at Reece’s Chapel with Pastor Winkie Chadwick and Charles Hardison officiating.
Robert worked for the Dept. of Corrections for 30 years. During the 70s and 80s he ran the Gant Station in Morehead City and was a Commercial Fisherman. Loved his Goldwing motorcycle and has ridden since the 70s.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Lee of the home; one son, Gary Lee and wife Darlene of Alliance, NC; one stepson, Tom Howard wife Laura of Newport, NC; one brother, Darrell “Nub” Lee of Newport; one sister, Carol Lee of Maysville, NC; ten grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Amanda Lee Seidl, B.J. Lee, Jeremy Denman, Matthew ”Boo Boo” Sirabian, Anna Nicole Sirabian, Joey Lee, Brian Grantham, Emma Rose Lee, and Josh Lee; also, three great grandchild, Wiley Lee, Amber Lee and Michael Lee.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Dean Lee; parents, Wheeler Lee and Geneva Stroud Lee; one daughter, Darlene Renee Sirabian; one son, Robert Dean Lee; one brother, Marvin Lee.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Reece’s Chapel Missions, PO Box 249 Newport, NC 28570.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
