It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Wayne Hawes, Jr., 59, of Hubert, North Carolina, who departed this world on September 11, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

A celebration of Bobby's life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 30th at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home's website.

Robert, affectionately known as Bobby, was born on June 26, 1967 in Fairfax County, Virginia. He was a loving father, son, brother, partner, and friend. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met, leaving behind cherished stories and joyful memories.

From a young age, Bobby was an entrepreneur and entertainer. At 16, he began working and building businesses, often employing friends and acquaintances. He worked in flooring installation, earned his Commercial Driver's License, and drove countless miles delivering goods nationwide. He was a passionate advocate for truck drivers, earning deep respect for those who made their living on the road.

A talented musician, Bobby performed as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist under the name Crash. He was known for his quick wit, comedic timing, and exceptional cooking-delighting friends and family with his secret recipes. Bobby's mission was to bring laughter and happiness to those around him, a calling he fulfilled every day.

Endlessly curious and knowledgeable, Bobby excelled in technology and innovation. He designed logos, created an app for predicting stock trades, and was always exploring new ideas and projects. His creativity and intellect inspired those around him.

Bobby had a strong love and relationship with the Lord Jesus. He was well versed in the Lord's words and scripture and would freely give his testimony to encourage others. His family and friends spent many hours with him on the phone with prayers and his encouragement. He oftentimes helped with providing spiritual support and advice as well as financial support during difficult times to his friends. He was a steadfast friend and loved his family and the Lord. He was honored and adored by his co-workers, family and all who knew him.

Bobby was devoted to his beloved son, Tyler, whose happiness and success were his greatest source of pride.

In his later years, Bobby found great joy driving for a tour bus company and in the companionship of his soulmate, Doreen. Though their time together was brief, their love was deep and meaningful, filled with laughter, adventures, and dreams for the future.

Bobby's passing has left a void in the hearts of all who loved him. His spirit, humor, and music will be dearly missed, but we take comfort in imagining him entertaining in Heaven, guitar in hand, bringing joy as he always did.

Bobby's life reminds us to embrace each day, share laughter, and cherish loved ones. He would want all to remember how deeply he cared for his family and friends, and how important they were to him.

Though Bobby's time with us was short, the music, laughter, love, and memories he shared will endure.

Bobby is deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bobby is survived by his son, Tyler Gordon of El Cajon, CA; companion, Doreen Goding of Hubert, NC; his parents, Vivian and Chuck Ridgeway of Morehead City, NC; siblings, Barbara Hawes, Deborah Kimberlin, Donald Kimberlin all of Northern Viriginia; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his father, Robert Wayne Hawes Sr.
