Robert Walter Earehart Sr., 86, of Vanceboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Bayview Nursing Home.

Robert was born on October 27, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Walter and Mae Earehart. He was a proud member of VFW Post 8205 in Panama City, Florida, where he shared a bond with his fellow veterans. He served two years in the United States Air Force and went on to dedicate over 31 years of his career as an aircraft mechanic at Cherry Point.

Robert enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, and crabbing. He was also an excellent cook who loved cooking for his family and friends. The time he spent with his family was something he cherished. Robert will be missed for his kind heart and wisdom that he gave so freely.

Those left to treasure his memory are his son, Robert Walter Earehart Jr. of Vanceboro, N.C.; daughters, Cynthia Louette (Billy) of Ranson, W.V., Paula Earehart of Atlantic Beach, N.C., Jessica Robin Elks (Buddy) of Vanceboro, N.C. Anna Elizabeth Ballance of New Bern, N.C; mother of his children, Ellen Louette Ballance of New Bern, N.C.; sister, Nancy and husband Al of Panama City Beach, FL..; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Earehart; and daughter, Tina Lee Earehart.
