Richie Echavez, 18, of Swansboro, died Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Richie was a surfer and student at the Adult High School. He was an organ donor so Richie will continue living through the lives he has touched and will touch.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Monday at St. Mildred's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his mother Anne Echavez of the home; four sisters, Anne McAllister of Georgia, Mary Jorgge and Tara Jorgge of New Jersy, and Kathya Echavez of the home; uncles and aunts Rusty and Eileen Lukeman of New York, Laura and Andrew Grafeld of New York, Casey and Tammy Lukeman of Arizona, and Alex and Hugh Carrington of New York; great-uncle and great-aunt Thomas and Carol Paulsen of New York; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leoncio Echavez.
