Richard J. Janek, 67, of Newport, died Thursday, August 6, 2009, at his daughter's residence.
Mr. Janek was a veteran who loved his country and served in the USMC for 20 years. He also served in Ohio as a Police Officer. He loved his children and grandchildren, fishing, camping, guns and all his friends.
Private services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Defeo of Swansboro, sons, Dennis Janek of Apex, Daniel Janek of Durham, and son, Christopher Janek of Cary, daughter, Michele Janek of Apex and son, Richard Janek of Oakland, CA; grandchildren, David Defeo, Sara Defeo, Tyler Janek, Ricky Royal and Piper Janek; brother, George Janek of FL and sister, Margaret Novack of Reno, NV.
