Richard Stuart

Richard “Dick” Stuart, 79, Newport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

 Dick was born on August 5, 1945, in Waterbury, Connecticut, but raised in nearby Bridgewater, Connecticut, to the late Henry and Olive Stuart. Dick served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps for four years, including a tour in Vietnam. In 1994, Dick made North Carolina his home, where he continued to build a life filled with hard work, love, and passion. He found joy in his work in residential construction, he loved the craftmanship of the career.

 Dick loved spending his free time fishing and playing horseshoes with friends and family. His love for the simple pleasures in life reflected his genuine nature. He will be remembered for his strength, dedication, and love he shared with those around him.

 Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Charlotte Stuart of the home; daughter, Rachel Stuart of Newport, NC; sisters, Olive Williams of Bridgewater, CT, Nancy Law of Bridgewater, CT; and brother, William Stuart of Bridgewater, CT.

 In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his son, Richard Reymond Stuart.
