Richard Clay Canfield, 78, of Morehead City, passed away on Monday, August 2 at The Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Richard was born in Carteret County on February 12, 1943. He was part of the Ole Porte Racket Club in Swansboro and was an avid tennis player.

He is survived by his niece, Catherine Canfield Gould and his nephew, Stephen North Canfield.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Iris Canfield, Sr. and his brother, Charles Stephen Canfield, Jr.
