Richard "Dick" Berkshire

Richard "Dick" Berkshire, 86, of New Bern, NC, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.

His family will plan a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.

Dick was born on July 7, 1937, in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, to Harry and Florence Berkshire. He was a member of his home church, St. Andrew's Lutheran in New Bern. Dick was a dedicated past member of The Southern Gentlemen Barbershop Chorus in New Bern and The Blue-Chip Chorus in New Jersey. He enjoyed the camaraderie that both singing groups brought to him.

Dick embraced life and loved being on the greens golfing, reeling in a catch while fishing, or traveling far and wide with his lovely wife, Judy. May his memory be a treasure to all who knew and loved him.

Those left to treasure his memory are his sons, Bill Berkshire (Cindy) of Pittsburgh, PA, and Tom Berkshire of Caldwell, NJ; sister, Janet Steinmetz (Richard) of Houston, TX; and grandchildren, William and Lilly Berkshire.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Berkshire; and sister Ann Brandt.
