Retha Annette (Hawks) Elliott
April 8, 1930 — June 30, 2016
Retha H. Elliott, 85, of Newport, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Carteret Health Care.
Her funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. James United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Supplee officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Newport.
Retha was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and she served on the Ladies Auxiliary at the church.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ruth Mann of Newport; brother-in-law, Richard Schaner of Michigan; niece, Pam Hart of Pollocksville; and her close friends, Pat Truby, Thomas Allen and Mike Madsen all of Newport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Elliott; son, Virgil Elliott; parents, Virgil and Elizabeth Arthur Hawks; and two brothers, Sherman A. Hawks and James D. Mann.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
