Raymond Harold Guthrie

Raymond Harold Guthrie, 82 of Empire, Louisiana, formerly of Salter Path, North Carolina, passed away on March 28, 2024, at West Jefferson Medical Center in Louisiana, surrounded by his family whom he loved dearly.

Born on February 11, 1942, Raymond was the son of the late Cecil and Georgia Guthrie. He worked hard as a commercial fisherman in North Carolina before moving to Louisiana, where he worked at Day Brooke Fisheries in Empire for 40 years. Raymond was a longstanding member of the Elks Lodge of Morehead City, NC.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 26 years, Sandra Guthrie of Empire, LA; children, Cheryl Guthrie (Mike) and Cecil Ray Guthrie, all of Salter Path, NC; grandchildren, Brennen Guthrie (Taylor), Talen Guthrie and Parker Guthrie, all of Salter Path; stepson, Terry Holmes of CA; step-granddaughter, Cassie Holmes of CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his children, Raymon Harold Guthrie Jr. and Raymond Bradley Guthrie; aunt, Laura “Sissy” Guthrie; and brother, Cecil Francis Guthrie.

The family will celebrate his life privately.
