Phyllis Isley Clapp O'Daniel

Phyllis Isley Clapp O'Daniel, 86, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, passed away from heart failure on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Carteret Landing, with family by her side.

A graveside service will take place at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ in Whitsett, NC. Service details will be shared once finalized.

Phyllis was born on April 20, 1939, in Julian, NC, to the late Howard and Ella Greeson Isley. She was a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ and attended Carrboro United Methodist Church with her late husband Edd O'Daniel.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Darlene Amick and husband Harold; sister, Betty Hobbs and husband Dan; stepdaughter, Dawn Sanders; stepson, Todd O'Daniel and wife Cynthia; grandchildren, Brandon Clapp and Bridgett Clapp; and great grandson, Riley Clapp.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Edward Clapp; son, Eddie Dwayne Clapp; and her second husband, William Edd O'Daniel.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice or the American Heart Foundation.
