Norman “Buster” Leslie Fulcher, 83, of Marshallberg, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 19, 2025, with his loved ones by his side.
A graveside service to honor Buster’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 23rd at Victoria Cemetery in Marshallberg, officiated by Chaplain Jeremy Slagle. The family will receive friends at the Cemetery following the service.
Buster was born on September 23, 1941, in Marshallberg, NC, to the late Norman H. Fulcher and Tat Willis Fulcher. A dedicated and hardworking individual, Buster began his working career at the NC State Port where he worked 13 years. He then spent over 30 years working as a commercial fisherman and later with the NC Department of Transportation's Ferry Division where he retired.
Growing up in Marshallberg, Buster enjoyed his childhood days spent walking the shores in search of hidden treasures, scrap wood and materials to build his duck blind. As an adult, he continued to enjoy coastal walks along Core Banks, finding treasures and old wood ducks. He had many happy memories of taking his family on outings to the Cape and Core Banks, including staying in the cabins and fishing.
A man of quiet strength, Buster led by example. He gave generously, loved deeply, laughed wholeheartedly and brought laughter to those around him with his jokes. If you knew Buster, you knew that he put his family first in everything he did. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, an amazing father, and a proud grandfather.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his children, Leslie Fulcher, Wendy Fulcher and wife Joanne Skinner, and Tammy Beasley and husband Dennis Rose, all of Marshallberg; grandchildren, Jordan Ray Willis, Tanner Reynolds, and Bailey Beasley; great grandchildren, Graclyn Reynolds; nieces and nephews, Robby Jones, Edie Jett, Cathy Rose, Randy Fulcher, Gray Fulcher and Renee Fulcher; along with his extended family, the Skinner Family of Mill Creek.
In addition to his parents, Buster was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sandra Golden Fulcher who passed away in 2020; sister, Bobby Ann Jones; brothers, Fernie Gray Fulcher and William “Billy” Fulcher; and nephew, Mack Jones.
