Norma was born on February 8, 1960, in San Joaquin, California, to the late Samuel and Beatrice Hidalgo. Growing up in a family of 6 children, she valued her siblings and the relationships she had with each of them. Norma's warm and compassionate nature touched the lives of all who knew her. With a friendly smile and an open heart, she never met a stranger and happily made connections with people from all walks of life.

Living on the coast, Norma’s happy place was the ocean. She loved walks along the beach and enjoyed fishing whenever she got the chance. Norma was also an adventurous spirit, finding thrill in riding motorcycles and the open road. In addition to her passion for the outdoors, Norma was a wonderful cook. Her kitchen was always filled with laughter, love, and amazing meals that would bring smiles to the faces of all who gathered there.

Norma was a member of the Newport Moose Lodge #2194, which exemplifies the values she held dear - camaraderie, service, and giving back to the community.

One of her greatest joys was spending time with her loved ones. Being with her family and grandkids were priceless times that will be forever cherished.

Those remaining are her loving daughter, Nikki Turman of Newport, NC; devoted fiancé, Lennie Griffin of Morehead City, NC; step-son, Lennie Griffin III of Morehead City; sisters, Naomi Ruth Molina (Gene), Rachel Lucille Molina (Steve), and Beatrice Marie Gonzalez (Gilbert), all of San Jose, CA; brothers, Richard “Ricky” Anthony Hidalgo and John Salvador Hildago, both of Sonora, CA; and grandchildren, Corbett Lynn Reid of Newport, NC, Aralyn Grantham and Robert Grantham, both of Morehead City, NC.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Turman and son, Jason Turman.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Norma’s memory to the Newport Moose Lodge #2194, P.O. Box 206, Newport, NC 28570.

Family and friends are welcome to submit online condolences at www.mundenfuneralhome.net.
