Obituary

Nancy Lee Provost, 92, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Cherry Point Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Her funeral mass will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock. Nancy will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in New Bern. Her service will be held at the end of July or the beginning of August; service details will be shared once finalized.

Nancy was born on June 21, 1934, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, to the late Fred and Muril Singleton. A devoted member of Annunciation Catholic Church since 1960, her faith was the foundation of her life. For more than 25 years, Nancy dedicated her life to shaping young minds as a teacher. She knew the value of a good education. She operated her own Avon business, enjoying the time she spent with her customers.

Nancy loved life, she never missed an opportunity to dance, travel, and explore new places. Whether she was driving across the United States, relaxing on a cruise, enjoying a day at the beach, or gathering around a table for dinner with family and friends- especially when lobster was on the menu. She was an amazing seamstress, always staying busy making beautiful garments over the years.

An active member of the Red Hat Society, Beta Sigma Phi, the Senior Citizens Club, the Civitan Club, the Lions Club, and the Knights of Columbus Lady Auxiliary, she enjoyed giving back to her community. Nancy’s cheerful and generous heart will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.

Those left to treasure her memory are her sons, Paul M. Provost, David W. Provost, and Craig R. Provost; nieces, Monica and Sydney Fuchs; nephew Jason Fuchs; and granddaughter, Emily Dudley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Provost; siblings, Carol Fuchs, Diane Maznik, Barry Singleton; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Provost.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are welcome.
