Nancy Ann Clayton, 75, of Newport, North Carolina, formerly of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Born on November 10, 1948, in Acushnet, Massachusetts, Nancy was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph Bono and Lawrinda Medieroes. Her journey took her from Dartmouth, MA, to Newport, NC in the 1980s.

Nancy's life was enriched by her love for horses, a passion that brought her joy and comfort. Despite facing health challenges, she found peace in simple pleasures like coloring and solving crossword puzzles during her treatments. Throughout her illness, Nancy was supported by her devoted daughter Kristine and Kristine's girlfriend Jessica, whose unwavering care and kindness brightened her darkest days. Nancy also found great companionship in her loyal fur baby, Tilley, who remained faithfully by her side.

Nancy will be remembered as a woman of strength and resilience, surrounded by love until the very end. 

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her loving and loving daughter, Kristine Clayton (Jessica) of Newport, NC; sister, Jennifer DaCosta of New Bedford, MA; grandchildren, Adam Kuchta, Austin Kuchta, and Autumn Kuchta; along with her fur baby, Tilley.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond O. Clayton; brother, Bobby Bono; sister, Barbara Bono; and grandson, Jared Mello.

A memorial service to honor Nancy’s life will be held at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are welcome.
