Michele “Mickey” Patricia Moore, 76, of Vanceboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 11, 2025.
A graveside service to celebrate Mickey’s life, along with military honors, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 22nd at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Born on August 17, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mickey was the daughter of the late Joseph Patrick Sullivan and Bernice Rose Sullivan. She was immensely proud of her country and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. Following her military service, she had a long career with Civil Service at Cherry Point and was a dedicated member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Post 263.
Mickey had a deep love for animals and was an avid supporter of the Humane Society in Craven County. Among her many interests, she loved bird watching and feeding the birds in her yard.
Known affectionately as “Tim the Tool Woman,” Mickey was a talented DIY enthusiast. She enjoyed woodworking and crafted intricate birdhouses and beautiful nativity decor. Mickey was known for her fondness for online shopping which often resulted in her favorite items being purchased in multiples.
Mickey will be remembered as a loving wife of 30 years, a devoted mother, and a proud nana and great grandmother.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert “Rob” Moore (Grace Mayes) of Charlotte, NC, Thomas Moore (Shauna) of Bulverde, TX, and Christopher Moore (Brent Dunn) of Greenville, NC; brother, Joseph “Joey” Sullivan (Diane) of Florida; daughter-in-heart, Leslie Moore; sister-in-heart, Jackie Kennedy; grandchildren, Zachary, Samantha, Caroline, Brandon, Stephanie, Jonas, Josh, and Virginia; great grandchildren, Elijah, Sean, Mikey, Nichole, Logan, Alex and Isiah; extended family, Madison, Emma, Phillip, Donna, and Josh; and her dogs who she loved to dote on, Buddy and Sassy.
In addition to her parents, Mickey was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert “Bobby” Ray Moore; brothers, Warren Sullivan, Wayne Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan; and granddaughter, Colleen.
