Michael “Mike” Fred Tomlinson, 53, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Michael, known to family and friends as Mike, was born on October 6, 1972, in Morehead City, North Carolina, to the late Paul and Mary Tomlinson.

Mike found joy in the simple things in life. He loved fishing, music, and playing pool. Living on the coast, he never missed an opportunity to cast a line and was always ready for the next big catch. Music was a constant part of his life, with Ozzy Osbourne and his heavy metal music among his favorites. Mike was also a talented pool player who truly enjoyed the sport of the game.

Gone too soon, Mike will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are the love of his life, Kartika Kay Stockton; son, Matthew Dillingham of Morehead City, NC; sister, Melanie Peterson of Havelock, NC; brothers, William Edward Burkett and wife Janie of Newport, NC and John Tomlinson of Morehead City, NC; and 4 grandchildren.
