Michael was born on July 18, 1950, in Morehead City, North Carolina, to the late Clifford Columbus Faglie and Mattie Lucille Dudley Faglie. He was a graduate of West Carteret High School with the Class of 1969. Michael was a loyal servant of the Morehead City Fire Department for 30 years, where he served as Captain. His career extended to time with the police department, NC State Port, Mark Bell Construction, Tommy Potter Oil Company, and the NC Ferry Division.

Outside of work, Michael's true passions were evident. He was a skilled cook, known for his delicious steaks and fried seafood. Michael was an avid hunter, enjoying the outdoors. He was a skilled fisherman, captain of the boat El’s Joy, and loved the thrill of catching Marlin. His love for adventure extended to his affinity for Corvettes, often seen cruising through Morehead City. Michael loved feeling the rush of adventure on his motorcycle, traveling all over, and embracing life to its fullest.  His love for adrenaline-fueled experiences mirrored his zest for life.

A caring son, husband, and father, Michael selflessly cared for his parents until their passing. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a love for life that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Angela Dorries Faglie; sons, Josh Faglie (Terri) of Newport, Tobias Dorries of Newport, Justin Dorries (Grace) of Gloucester, and Austin Dorries (Ashley Lockheart) of Havelock; grandchildren, Izzy Turner, Spencer Dorries, and Ginger Croft, Silas Dorries and Donald Dorries.
