Melvin Fritz

Melvin W. Fritz, 84, of Morehead City, died Sunday, August 23, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Fritz was a member of First Baptist Church in Morehead City. He was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S,. Marine Corps and also retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a active member of the Lions Club, the American Legion, and the National Association of Federal Retired Employees.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Morehead City with the Rev. Charles Royal officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
He is survived by two brothers, Marvin Fritz of Burtrum, MN, and Harvey Fritz of Randall, MN; sister, Alice Steenburg of North Port, FL; and eight nieces and eight nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Becton Fritz, parents, Otto and Gustie Fritz, brother, Arnold Fritz, sister, Esther Fischer, and husband Vernon, and brother-in-law, Jack Steenburg.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
