Maryann Helen Ellis
December 5, 1942 — August 25, 2016
Maryann Helen Ellis, 73, of Broad Creek, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at home.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday August 29, 2016 at Broad Creek Church of God with Rev. Robbie Strickland officiating.
Maryann was a foster parent for over 35 years and cared for over 150 children. She was a member of the Broad Creek Church of God for over 25 years. She volunteered for many charities and organizations and had also worked at Walmart as a cashier. She is known for her cooking, especially her homemade German chocolate cake.
Maryann is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lester Ellis; daughters, Sharon Lowery and husband Tommy of Newport, Donna Lasater and husband Derick of Newport, Karen Camp and husband Greg of OH, formerly of Newport and Tammy Ellis of Melbourne, FL; sons, Lester Ellis III of MN, formerly of Newport, Philip Ellis and wife Kris of Melbourne, FL, and Brandon Ellis of Newport; 19 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Maurice, Jimmy, Edward, Andy, Donald, Johnny, and Robert; and sisters, Rose, Helen, Linda, and Katherine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliva and Beatrice Landry; brother, Norman Landry; sister, Patricia Jean Landry; and granddaughter, Corey Ann Quinn.
