Mary Powers, 58, of Newport, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at her sister's residence.
Services will be held 10:00 am Friday at Marshallberg Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Williams and Rev. Wes Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Through the Woods Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Ray Powers of Newport; daughter, April Young of Newport; son, Jimmy Sykes of Newport; mother, Leonda "Pat" Henninger of Gloucester; brothers, Kenneth Henninger of Beaufort and Arlie Henninger of NH; sister, Patricia Holcombe of Gloucester; grandchildren, Derek Young of Gloucester and Melody Young of Greenville, Blake Young of Gloucester and Brooke Sykes and Brittany Sykes, both of Beaufort and a great grandchild, A.J. Taylor of Greenville.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Lewis and Melody Henninger and her father, Kenneth Henninger.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home.
