Mary Ann Fleming

Mary Ann Fleming, 75, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Pruitt Health - Crystal Coast.

A memorial service to honor Mary’s life will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, June 28th at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Karl Zorowski. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mary was born on June 17, 1950, in Morehead City, NC, to the late Edward and Maggie Barselow. She was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church.

Mary enjoyed spending time in her garden and had a green thumb when it came to nurturing her plants. She loved to travel, with the mountains being her favorite getaway. Living on the coast, she spent many happy days on the beach. Above all, Mary’s great joy came from the moments spent with her family, whom she loved dearly.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Garland Ray O’Neal of Newport, NC; sister, Christine Tolar of Carson, VA; and grandson, Tyler O’Neal of Newport, NC.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Fleming and brother, Glenn Barselow.
