Marlene Barbara Hunsicker

Marlene Barbara Hunsicker, 87, of Newport, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

 Marlene was born on September 28, 1937, in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, to the late Paul and Margaret Edelman. She loved the simple pleasures in life, especially spending time outdoors in her garden. Marlene’s home was also filled with love for her animals, who she cared for with a warm heart and gentle hands.

She treasured moments spent with family, whether it was shopping for little surprises, playing spirited card games, or working on word searches. Marlene’s laughter and kindness brightened the lives of everyone who knew her. May she be remembered for her gentle heart and her dedication to her beloved family.

 Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters, Leslie Minor (Jimmy) of Newport, NC Deneen Schexnayder (Mark) of Newport, NC; sister, Lavona Sadler of Nashville, TN; and granddaughter, Rhea Pemberton of Wilmington, NC.

 In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne “Porky” Hunsicker; and sister, Floy Rabenold.
