Margaret “Buggy” Trader, 87, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center.
Margaret, lovingly known to friends and family as “Buggy” was born on October 19, 1937, in Wilmington, NC, to the late John and Mary Trader. Known for her beauty inside and out, Buggy was crowned Miss United Fund of Cherry Point in 1956. She was a devoted catholic woman of faith who worshipped at Annunciation Catholic Church. Buggy enjoyed her Golden Seniors Group who met at Cox’s each month. Buggy will be remembered as a loving wife, amazing mother, proud “Granny Bug” and loving “Aunt Buggy” to many.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Robert Allen Robbins of Havelock, NC; daughter, Michelle Ray Waddell and husband Gary of Kenly, NC; sisters, Lou Schmalbeck of Plainfield, IL and Jacki Backus of Indian Wells, CA; and grandchildren, Carson Waddell and fiancé Marisol Chavez, and Chaz Jeremiah Robbins.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, John Trader, Ernest Trader and Edward Trader.
