Obituary

Madeline Ann Melotto, 68, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on September 17, 2026.

Madeline was born to the late Philip Michael Melotto and June Ruth Tyndal on December 18, 1957 in Fayetteville, NC. Madeline was a daddy's girl and often told many stories and fond memories of growing up and what a good man her father was. When she had her daughter in January of 1982, she relocated to Atlantic Beach, NC to take care of her sick mother.

She was a hardworking woman who spent many years working as a seamstress at the shirt factory, She suffered through a lifetime of pain, because of her scoliosis, to provide for her children. She was determined and focused. Madeline loved her family dearly and always worked hard to make sure everyone had what they needed.

In January of 1992, she had her son, who she named after her late father, and the family moved to Beaufort NC. Madeline was passionate about her family. Her two children were always her priority and she spent her life taking care of them, loving them and guiding them in the right direction. The ONLY thing she wanted was for them to be happy. Madeline loved her grandchildren dearly, and they loved her just as much. She was a good friend to the few that she kept close, and she would help anyone she could to the best of her ability.

Madeline loved the sea, nature, working outside in the yard, watching the birds, and feeding the squirrels. The simple things in life are what she enjoyed the most.

Madeline is survived by her children, Philip M. Melotto, 34, of Morehead City, NC, and her daughter, Angela M. Melotto, 44, of Erie, PA. She is also survived by her two grandchildren of Erie, PA.

Her passing will forever change our lives. There will never be anyone like her. Nothing compares to the love you get from your mom. She is missed dearly. We will make you proud ma. We love you so very much ma.
