A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Friday at Amariah Garner Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Linerberger officiating.
He is survived by two sons, Paul James Pitner, Sr. of Newport and Loy Joseph Pitner of Jacksonville; sister, Joy Ann Craig of Cherokee; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dell Marie Pitner , brother, Ray Pitner and sister, Faye Maynard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
